I'm seriously thinking about trying the 1.725 rocker arms (part # SE 17396-98). I'm wondering why sporty owners don't change the rocker arm ratio.the newer XLs use the same rocker arms as the EVO big twins and Twin cams. įell free to correct my methods and math. Not sure what conclusion to draw from this.but I do know its common (or at least more common than XL owners )for the big twin guys to use non stock rocker arm ratios such as the screamin eagle 1.725 rocker arm. Instead of using 1.62 for the rocker arm ration I will use 1.7 OK lets try the SE XL Pro performance cam.listed spec. Using the above formula.rounded to the nearest thou I measured the cam lobe and base circle diameter of two different cams (cam lobe diameter)-(base circle diameter) x rocker ratio= valve lift I can determine lobe lift by measuring the difference between the lobe diameter and the base circle diameter of the cam. Lobe lift x rocker arm ratio = Lift at the valve. stock rocker arm ratio on a sporty is somewhere between 1.6 and 1.625. I took some measurements ,did a little math.and did not get the published lift specs for the two cams that I have.an E and a W cam. Real nerdy shit here.and it involves math. Thoughts and observations of a couple of cams I have.
